Full information relating to the bus services cited in sections A to C of the main report is detailed in this annex.

SECTION A –REVIEW OF SUBSIDISED BUS SERVICES

Contract PT/S11

Service description: Service 261, Thame to Chinnor

Services 231/331, Thame to Chinnor/High Wycombe

Days and times of operation: Monday to Saturday, 0800 until 1800

Service 261, hourly

Service 231/331, two hourly

Available alternative services: Alternative facilities do exist on the lower frequency Service 232 (Contract PT/S112) held by OCC, that operates every two hours between Thame and Chinnor, but service 261 does not serve Kingston Blount or Towersey villages. The withdrawal of Service 261 would not have any detrimental effect if services 231/331/332 were continued in their present form.

Contract PT/W150

Service description: Service 69, Chipping Norton – Witney via Charlbury, Finstock and Hailey.

Days and times of operation: Monday to Saturday, hourly 0700 until 1800

Available alternative services: Worths Motor Services operate a limited number of commercial journeys along this route. There are alternative services from Charlbury to Chipping Norton and Oxford, but for other villages on the route this represents the only service apart from the few commercial journeys mentioned.

SECTION B – COMMERCIAL WITHDRAWAL OF BUS SERVICES

Contract PT/O7

Service description: Service 106, Greater Leys to Cowley Centre

Days and times of operation: Monday to Friday, hourly 0900 until 1500,

Saturdays, hourly 0800 until 1700

Cost per passenger journey: see Exempt Annex 2

Available alternative services: No alternative day time bus service operates along these roads in eastern Greater Leys, but alternative services operate 600-700 metres walk away, or even closer for some parts. A subsidised evening service through the area does operate seven nights a week.

Contract PT/O17

Service description: Service 300, Redbridge P&R - City Centre - Pear Tree Park & Ride

Service 400, Seacourt Park & Ride – City Centre – Thornhill Park & Ride

Days and times of operation: Monday to Saturday evenings, 2000 until 2330

(These subsidised journeys complement the daytime commercial journeys).

Service 400 has alternative local bus services that pass Seacourt Park & Ride site but Thornhill is only served in the evenings by the London express coaches (however, these are registered with the Traffic Commissioners as local bus services)

Service description: Service 500, Water Eaton Park &Ride - City Centre

Available alternative services: Woodstock – Tackley passengers have no alternative although there is a regular service from Tackley to Banbury, Kidlington and Oxford. Woodstock does serve as the "administrative" town for Tackley. Woodstock - Kidlington passengers have a "free bus" to Sainsbury’s at Kidlington on two days per week but otherwise Woodstock has regular services to Oxford and Chipping Norton. The Heath Lane area of Bladon has no alternative bus service, although Service 42 does operate between Woodstock and Witney via the main road through Bladon.

Service description: Service 488, Chipping Norton - Banbury

Days and times of operation: Monday to Friday, one early journey at 0705

(This journey complements the rest of the daytime service operated after 0730 until 1900)
