ANNEX -
Minute 193/02 Comprehensive Performance Assessment Agreed Amendments
- Section 1.3, paragraph
4 – substitute specific figures for "significant" in the reference
to the increase in the ethnic minority population.
- Section 1.3, paragraph
6 – delete "especially in Oxford which experiences high levels
of alcohol and drug abuse."
- Section 2.2 –
amend heading to read "What are our Priorities?"
- Section 2.4 –
amend to reflect clearly the County Council’s commitment to public consultation
and describe more fully the opinion seeking surveys carried out over
the last two years.
- Section 2.2, "Safeguarding
our Communities" table – add footnotes explaining the timescale
for specific targets and the rationale for including "need"
in the target relating to exclusions from school.
- Section 2.3.3
– add reference to the Learning & Skills Council.
- Section 2.3.4
– add reference to the Early Years and Childcare Partnership.
- Section 3.2 –
include reference to leadership in the context of the elected membership;
re-order bullet points to reflect the more important methods of communication
information to staff; and include reference to service visits by local
members and Scrutiny members.
- Section 3.3 –
acknowledge weak areas of performance and stress the Council’s will
to improve.
- Section 3.7 –
amend to reflect Budget Strategy priorities, eg for Repair & Maintenance,
Cultural Services, IT and Job Evaluation, and the decision to maintain
Social Services spending while looking for opportunities for improvement.
- Section 4.1.1
– include reference to Education Development Plan.
- Section 4.6 –
include reference to Youth Service.
- Section 3.7.5
– include reference to the impact of large Council Tax increases for
people on lower incomes.
