OXFORD CENTRAL AREA – VARIATIONS TO WAITING, PARKING, TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT AND PARKING PLACES FOR PEDAL CYCLES ORDERS

Proposed Variations to Traffic Regulation Orders

1. The Oxfordshire County Council (Oxford Central Area) (Controlled Parking Zone) (Consolidation) Order 2003:
   
   

1. Removal of disabled parking spaces in Littlegate Street, George Street and Pusey Lane.
2. Provision of disabled parking spaces in Paradise Street and Rewley Road.
3. Inclusion of Frideswide Square (area previously named Park End Street).
4. Amendments to loading restrictions in George Street and provision of dedicated loading bays.
   
   
2. The Oxfordshire County Council (Oxford Central Area) (Designation and Regulation of Street Parking Places ) Order 2002:
   
   

1. Minor amendments to clarify the meaning of the Order.
2. Introduction of ‘pay and display’ parking in the central parking area in Broad Street.
   
   
3. The Oxfordshire County Council (The City of Oxford) (Central Area) (Traffic Management) (Consolidation) Order 2003.
   
   

1. Prohibition of motor traffic proceeding from Worcester Street (north) into George Street and vice-versa.
2. Prohibition of motor traffic turning left from Gloucester Street or right from New Inn Hall Street into George Street.
3. Prohibition of motor traffic, except buses, taxis, licensed private hire vehicles, emergency vehicles and delivery vehicles (10am to 6pm only) from proceeding in George Street between Gloucester Street and Cornmarket Street.
4. Prohibition of motor traffic, other than emergency vehicles, proceeding from Banbury Road to Keble Road and vice-versa.
5. Prohibition of motor traffic, except buses, taxis, licensed private hire vehicles and emergency vehicles from entering the segregated section of carriageway in St Giles that leads into Magdalen Street East.
6. Prohibition of the left turn into Longwall Street from High Street and the right turn from Longwall Street into High Street.
7. Prohibition of overtaking in Botley Road from Cripley Road to the Station Access Road.
8. Removal of the prohibition of motor traffic from St Cross Road to Jowett Walk and vice-versa and the introduction of a prohibition of motor traffic over a section of Jowett Walk.
9. Extension of the paved area at the south end of New Inn Hall Street.
   
   
4. The City of Oxford (Parking Places for Pedal Cycles) Order 2001.
   
   

1. Provision of additional cycle parking places in Jowett walk, Albion Place and Littlegate Street.
