Description of the Options for Footway/Cycleway Link between Bayworth and Sunningwell (see more detailed description of the routes in the Members’ Resource Centre).

Option 1 is off carriageway and would involve the construction of a 2 metre wide shared use track in the existing verge on the east side of the road to provide a link between Bayworth and Sunningwell.

Option 2 is similar to Option 1, the difference being that the 2 metre wide track would be constructed deep in the eastern verge away from the road.

Option 3 involves the construction of a 2 metre shared use track on the western side of the road using the existing road width. This would result in a reduction in the road width available to general traffic. Passing bays would therefore be constructed at various points along the route to allow vehicles to pass each other. The speed limit would also be reduced to reduce the speed at which vehicles are passing cyclists/pedestrians.
