W Lucy & Co Ltd

Serious reservations due to close proximity of Zebra to entrance for lorry traffic.

Zebra has been redesigned further from entrance.

Thames Valley Police

Report supports crossing and suggests that a raised crossing would also slow vehicle speeds

Zebra has been redesigned as a raised crossing.

Family Publications,

King Street

Access is already difficult the restrictions will make it almost impossible.

The length of Jericho Street marked for closure should be one way towards Walton Street. King street should remain two way

The scheme is intended to create an island around the school that deters unnecessary vehicle use of these streets by introducing restricted routes.

The length of Jericho Street identified for closure is very narrow and is also used as the main pedestrian route for the school.

The restrictions will not prevent access to King Street. However a more considered approach will be necessary by drivers.

Make Jericho Street one way.

Loading vehicles often blocks King Street.

The scheme will divert traffic into Cranham St and Great Clarendon Street

The entry treatments will cause unnecessary traffic noise.

Suggests looking at the whole school journey.

The closure at the top of Jericho Street and the restriction point in King Street create a one way route. However, vehicles in Jericho Street can travel in both directions if necessary.

The scheme is intended to keep vehicles accessing the area away from the school.

Speeds will be lower and vehicle noise shouldn’t become more intrusive.

The scheme is only one part of the Better Ways to School project.

Cardigan Street resident

Objects to proposals as unnecessary.

Vehicles use these streets for legitimate business purpose.

Currently there are no problems for cyclists and pedestrians in these streets.

The scheme is intended to create an island around the school that deters unnecessary vehicle use of these streets.

Access is still available to all businesses.

Scheme will create a better environment for cyclists and pedestrians.
