Ian moved to Yarnton with his wife Fiona in 1993 after studying applied psychology at London and Cranfield universities. He co-founded the national high street jewellers chain Argenteus, which opened its first store in Oxford in 1994 and now trades online. Ian is also a highly regarded retail analysist and business writer focussing on independent and ethical retail.
He became Cherwell District Council's first ever Green councillor in 2019 and also sits on Parish councils in Yarnton, Kidlington and Gosford and Water Eaton.
He is a keen outdoors enthusiast, runner, hiker, mountain walker and an animal and human rights activist.
