Councillor Dr James Hartley

James and his wife moved to North Oxfordshire 15 years ago, when he was still serving in the Royal Navy, so he largely commuted weekly for the next 9 years, including spells overseas.  After leaving the Navy, he joined the MoD as a Civil Servant, working in leadership training - firstly with the Chaplains at Amport House (since closed) and then with the wider MoD at the Defence Academy.

With stability in his work, James became more active in the community, becoming a Parish Councillor and active in the Liberal Democrats.

James has a dog and is currently raising a Guide Dog puppy, which - when not kept busy by them - has a garden to enjoy.
