We feel that during the last 7 years, Mr Ian Hudspeth and Mr
Nimmo-Smith have been responsible for a number of bad decisions
which prove they are not fit to hold their positions.
The majority, but not all of the reasons are related to Oxfordshire
roads, traffic management, road maintainance and poor use of money
made available to them.
Our lack of confidence is so strong that we feel every day spent where these two continue to have any power over the funds available, is pushing us further away from ever rectifying the already dire situation.
Over the years, lots of decisions have prevented improvement on major roads such as the A34 and A40. They have also managed the maintainence of the roads in a shocking manner, especially where potholes are concerned.
But for the purpose of keeping this petition short - we will concentrate on the most current display of incompetence.
Most recently this has been highlighted by the large volume of roadwork projects taking place at the same time on most of the main routes in to Oxford.
This has caused a lot of distress for thousands of motorists who
have reported journey times being extended by more than 300%,
others have been forced to not even go in to work.
School Pupils have been late getting to school.
Local businesses are reporting that it is affecting customers
getting to them and they are losing money.
Court cases have been delayed due to people not being able to reach
St Aldates.
Quotes like "short term pain for long term gain" just dont cut it anymore.... we have had enough pain already and for way longer than neccesary.
The reasons put forward by the pair for the poor planning are no longer acceptable and have been debunked in almost every case.
We, the public are also sick of them trying to divert our attention by releasing details of "fantasy projects" of the future which we know have no chance of ever happening.... but do in some cases stall us complaining about the problems they dont fix now.
By signing this petition we express that we no longer have any
confidence in the two councillors and request that Mr Hudspeth and
Mr Nimmo-Smith stand down with immediate effect.
