Questions from County Councillors Any county councillor may, by giving notice to the Proper Officer by 9 am on the working day before the meeting, ask a question on any matter in respect of the Cabinet Member’s delegated powers.
The number of questions which may be asked by any councillor at any one meeting is limited to two (or one question with notice and a supplementary question at the meeting) and the time for questions will be limited to 30 minutes in total. As with questions at Council, any questions which remain unanswered at the end of this item will receive a written response.
Questions submitted prior to the agenda being despatched are shown below and will be the subject of a response from the appropriate Cabinet Member or such other councillor or officer as is determined by the Cabinet Member, and shall not be the subject of further debate at this meeting. Additional documents: Minutes: The Cabinet Member for Growth & Infrastructure considered a report setting out the detail of a second review of the van and trailer permit scheme and amendments to it in the light of issues that had arisen in the course of the year since the first review and advised that she had visited most of the sites herself and believing it to be a common sense approach highlighted advantages of the Scheme which included protection for householders, good ongoing savings and its predominantly ‘paperless’ nature.
(a) approve the detailed amendments to the Van and Trailer Permit Scheme as set out in Annex 1 to the report CMDGI4;
(b) authorise the Deputy Director for Environment, Economy & Customer Services Commercial to make changes to the permit scheme as deemed necessary in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Growth and Infrastructure;
(c) conduct a third review of the Scheme when appropriate and not longer than 3 years from the date of the report CMDGI4.
