This report presents responses to a statutory consultation on the proposed introduction of 20mph speed limits.

 

The Cabinet Member for Environment is RECOMMENDED to approve the proposed introduction of 20 mph and 30 mph speed limits as advertised.

Decision:

The Cabinet Member for Highway Management APPROVED the proposed introduction of 20 mph and 30 mph speed limits as advertised.

Minutes:

The Cabinet Member considered a report presenting responses to a statutory consultation on the proposed introduction of 20mph and 30mph speed limits.

 

Clarification was given regarding the recommendation for 20mph and 30mph limits. Cllr Gant highlighted the issue of emergency vehicles raised in the consultation and it was confirmed if a vehicle was on call then the limits would not apply.

 

Cllr Gant expressed his support for the recommendations in the report as the

proposal would help facilitate walking and cycling within the village and the safe movement of traffic.

 

DECISION:

 

The Cabinet Member for Highway Management APPROVED the proposed introduction of 20 mph and 30 mph speed limits as advertised.
