Minutes:
The Cabinet Member received a report presenting responses to a statutory consultation on the proposed introduction of 20mph speed limits in Brize Norton.
Councillor Andrew Gant invited the speaker to address the meeting.
Councillor Gant agreed that parked cars could have a traffic calming effect but he was uneasy relying on that because they posed dangers as well to pedestrians and cyclists.
Officers clarified that the road to the crocodile farm was included in the 20 mph limit as there was a potential for walkers on that road and there were houses there too. The Parish Council had asked for the whole village to be included.
DECISION
The Cabinet Member for Highway Management APPROVED the proposed introduction of 20mph speed limits as advertised.
