Decision details

Improving and Extending Provision for Children and Young People in Oxfordshire - Chill Out Fund 2009/10

Decision Maker: Delegated Decisions by Cabinet Member for Children, Young People & Families

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: Yes

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

To consider applications received (if any) from the Chill Out Fund

Decision:

The Cabinet Member for Children, Young People & Families considered applications from the Chill Out Fund for improving and extending provision for children and young people in Oxfordshire.

Councillor Chapman declared a personal interest as Local Member in the application from North Leigh Youth Project.

With regard to the application from Icknield Community College the Cabinet Member considered that the application was supporting specific school improvements and as such did not strictly meet the criteria for the Chill Out fund. She suggested that other sources of funding would be more appropriate.

Having regard to the arguments and options set out in the documentation before me, the representations made to me and the further considerations set out above, I confirm my decisions on this matter as follows:

(a)       to approve the following applications for grant support from the Chill Out Fund 2009/10:

North Leigh Youth Project – Revenue Grant £5,000

Northway Girls and Boys Football Club – Revenue Grant £1,000

Oxon Foster – Revenue Grant £1,250

(b)       not to approve the application from Icknield Community College but suggest to the applicants investigating other sources of funding.
