Decision details

Countywide health MOT service contract

Decision Maker: Director of Public Health & Communities

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

Completion of the contract will enable the provider to deliver the workplace and community health MOT service across Oxfordshire.

Decision:

As above. Agreement in principle on priority areas for allocating the public health grant reserves and public health grant funding, including a workplace health MOT service was made on 19/05/2025 and for a community outreach alcohol IBA advice service on 22/09/2025. Approval for commissioning a combined holistic workplace health MOT service and community health outreach service on 27/10/2026.

Reasons for the decision:

As above. To encourage early intervention, enhance overall health and wellbeing, tackle inequalities in health outcomes, reduce absenteeism from work, and foster a more resilient workforce and community.

Alternative options considered:

Do nothing – rejected as this would prevent realization of programme impact

To confine the service just to workplaces – rejected as limits the benefits of joining with community provision in terms of funding and outreach
