Decision details

Extend Young People’s Supported Accommodation contracts

Decision Maker: Director of Children's Services

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

The Young People’s Supported Accommodation (YPSA) service is a group of contracts providing shared, single and parents accommodation for young people aged 18 – 21 years old.   This decision will ensure that the contracts will be extended and services under the contracts can continue.

Decision:

Decision to extend YPSA contracts for 18 months from 1st October 2025 to 31st March 2027. The budget for these services sits with Children’s Social Care.

Reasons for the decision:

The contracts are to be extended so that Young People’s Supported Accommodation (YPSA) services can be provided to meet Oxfordshire County Council’s legal duty.

Alternative options considered:

The alternative would be not to extend the contracts. This would mean no contracts for services and a failure to deliver its legal duty. It is not feasible or economic for the Council to provide these services in-house.
