Purpose:

The agreement will allow the construction of the HIF1 DSB (including A4130) scheme to commence. 

 

Decision:

To seal and complete the construction contract for the Didcot Science Bridge (incl. A4130) between (1) Oxfordshire County Council and (2) Volker Fitzpatrick Ltd.

 

 

 

Reasons for the decision:

The procurement process is complete, and the contractor (Volker Fitzpatrick Ltd.) was successful.  Construction of the Didcot Science Bridge scheme needs to be commenced.

Alternative options considered:

The alternative would be to not permit the contract to be completed.  This would mean construction would not be able to commence, putting the HIF1 programme at risk.
