12. Scrutiny Review: Geographical Equity for Older People’s Day Care Services in Oxfordshire

On 14 April 2004 the Best Value Committee considered the matters in the Scrutiny Review which related to the work of that Committee and commented as follows:

Recommendation 3

The Committee emphasised the importance of an older people’s information service / centre and an up to date database of voluntary organisations for older people.

Recommendation 6

There was still work to be done to develop the corporate role of the Older People’s Champion across the Council.

Recommendation 9 (iii)

Concern was expressed that there was no progress with the co-location of school transport and special transport.

Recommendation 11

The Committee highlighted the importance of foot-care service provision for older people and the current inadequacy of service provision in Oxfordshire.
