A copy is attached to the signed copy of this decision.

Summary of representations in person

Councillor Gatehouse spoke in support of a Gating Order and hoped that closure could be achieved as soon as possible.

Mr Prior advised that the order would now go forward for statutory consultation which would be likely to take 2 to 3 months.

Cabinet Member’s Comments

Councillor Hudspeth recognised that there were problems in gathering information on these orders and considered that there could be a role for Community Safety to assist in the processing of future gating orders.

Decision

Having regard to the arguments and options set out in the documentation before me, the representations made to me and the further considerations set out above, I confirm my decisions on this matter as follows:

to approve the request for a Gating Order for the alleyway between Windale Avenue and Pegasus Road, Blackbird Leys, Oxford and to authorise the Head of Transport in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Transport to consider any representations which might result from the statutory consultation process.
