Summary of representations in person
Councillor Smith expressed her support for the proposals but asked if consideration could be given to having 20 mph repeater signs on the road surface itself rather that on lampposts. She also asked if consideration could be given to introducing a 20 mph order on Abingdon Road itself.
Mr Collins advised that it would not be possible to provide signs on the road surface and with regard to the introduction of a 20 mph restriction on Abingdon Road itself that would need to be referred to the Road safety Section to consider as part of a City review.
Cabinet Member’s Comments
The Cabinet Member expressed his satisfaction with the proposals set out in the report.
Decision
Having regard to the arguments and options set out in the documentation before me, the representations made to me and the further considerations set out above, I confirm my decisions on this matter as follows:
to approve the making of a 20mph Speed Limit Order for the area bounded by Norreys Road, Wytham Street and Oswestry Road as advertised and set out on drawing no. CO262/02/01B annexed to the report CMDT4.
