Summary of representations in person

Mr Robinson referred to the considerable safety concerns for drivers accessing and egressing Corndell Gardens which would be alleviated by parking restrictions at the junction of Corndell Gardens and Corn Street.

Mr Wilson acknowledged that there had been delay with these measures but the County Council were now in a position to take them forward.  Responding to the cabinet Member for Transport he confirmed that introduction the new criminal parking enforcement regulations would not delay progress of this order.

Decision

Having regard to the arguments and options set out in the documentation before me, the representations made to me and the further considerations set out above, I confirm my decisions on this matter as follows:

to:

(a)               approve the making of the OCC (Various Roads, Witney)(Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting)(Amendment) Order 2009 as published to include those locations where no comments or objections had been received namely Church Green, Corndell Gardens, New Bridge Street, Newland Mill and Station Lane. These proposals to be readvertised due to the substantial change from the original Public Notice;

(b)               approve that those locations namely Farm Mill Lane, Holloway Road, Pensclose and Wainrush View where minor adjustments could be made to the original proposals based on the comments received during the consultation be included in the readvertised proposals referred to in (a) above; and

(c)               approve that Dark Lane and The Crofts which had received objections and which required agreement through further consultation be removed from the Amendment Order on the basis that once agreed those locations and proposals would be re-advertised in due course.
