  1. Local Area Agreement

The Corporate Governance Scrutiny Committee have made the following comments (references have been updated in line with the most recently circulated draft – Version 6):

    • Page 3, paragraph 10 – Update the number of targets.

    • Economic Enterprise & Development Block - The Committee noted that the Public Service Board had decided not to include the promotion of air quality and the benefits of cycling/cycle ways as priorities for the next 3 years.

    • Children & Young People Block: The Committee:
      • noted that the Assistant Chief Executive would review the references/attitudes towards young people and families;
      • felt there should be reference to parental concerns/family problems.

    • Safer & Stronger Communities Block: [detailed typographical points which have been addressed in subsequent drafts]

    • Generally:
      • The Cabinet was asked to consider including LAA targets within the Council’s priorities for 2006/07.
      • Grammar and spelling should be tightened up.
