50 MPH SPEED LIMIT CRITERIA

Supporting Measures

  • Possible entry features include:

      1. dragons teeth markings

      2. coloured surfacing

      3. rumble strips (if >300m from housing)

      4. dummy rumble strips

      5. countdown signs (require DfT authorisation)

      6. 50 roundels

  • Possible intermediate features include:

      1. above plus:

      1. repeater signs at increased frequency

      2. exclamation mark warning signs with blackspot sub-plate (require DfT authorisation)

  • Temporary ‘New Speed Limit’ signs will be an important part of raising awareness as well as promoting calming
