CORPORATE
GOVERNANCE SCRUTINY COMMITTEE – 8 MAY 2003
Oxfordshire
Plan 2003/04 - Key points arising in debate
General
- The 2003/04 Plan
was an improvement but still rather bland in parts, for example references
at page 8 to ‘older people’ and page 12: to ‘day care services’, and
should be firmed up.
- The Plan should:
highlight the Council’s
work/partnership with others, for example the Oxfordshire Health Authority
and initiatives, stakeholders and engaging the public;
emphasise the Council’s
role in supporting the rural economy and maintaining the vitality of
town/village centres and ‘green’ tourism.
- There should be
no inconsistencies either within the Plan or its related publications.
- Spelling errors
should be corrected.
Best
Value Performance Indicators
- The reason/s for
‘greyed out’ and unfilled cells on i.e. page 37 required explanation.
- Page 40: the Plan
should confirm the BVPI definition of ‘footways’
Public
Service Agreement
- This section should
include reference to the development of ‘job descriptions’ for PSA target
Champions.
