PROPOSALS FOR THE RE-PROVISIONING OF THE OXFORDSHIRE CARE PARTNERSHIP HOMES

Oxfordshire County Council/Oxfordshire Care Partnership Re-provisioning Strategy Working Group

Task

To prepare a detailed, strategic development plan for the seven ‘Stage 2’ homes by September 2002.

Methods

The group will have a core membership of both OCC and OCP officers with the option to invite others to attend on specific issues. It will meet once a month. In completing its task it will need to encompass the following methods:

• Needs analysis comprising current demands on service, plus future demographic and policy trends
• Market analysis of current provision
• Agreement on definitions and models of care such as Intermediate Care, Very Sheltered Housing, Transitory/ Step Down Care, EMI etc
• Analysis of local service and delivery pressures and area purchasing plans
• Recognition of other strategic purchasing / commissioning plans for Older People such as pooled budget, Primary Care Trusts, District Housing Authorities, etc.
• Examples of best practice elsewhere in the UK.
• The involvement in preparing the strategy of other stakeholders concerned with Older People’s services
