ITEMS CC17 & CC18COUNTY COUNCIL – 9 SEPTEMBER 2003Councillor Christine Witcher will move the following composite motion, which replaces the motions at items 17 and 18 in the agenda: This
Council recognizes the importance of producing open and transparent consultations
and values the need for good communications between the Executive, Scrutiny
Committees and relevant service departments. The Council also supports
the work of scrutiny reviews and asks that the Executive continues to
strengthen communication and consultation procedures to ensure effective,
transparent governance and ensures that all service departments are made
aware of the importance of independent ‘scrutiny’ and that they utilize
the Scrutiny reports and their findings to further enhance the work of
their services.
