Outside Body Appointments

The County Solicitor & Monitoring Officer reports as follows:

 

The Council’s Constitution allocates to the Committee the responsibility for appointments to ‘non-strategic’ outside bodies. 

 

There are two matters for consideration:

 

Oxford Preservation Trust

 

The Committee is RECOMMENDED to appoint Councillor Ian Hudspeth, Leader of the Council in place of Councillor Keith Mitchell CBE. 

 

 

Oxfordshire Museums Council

 

The Committee is RECOMMENDED to appoint Councillor Charles Mathew in place of Councillor Don Seale. 

 

Minutes:

The Committee were asked to give consideration to two appointments (as set out on the face of the Agenda) and to a request reported verbally to the meeting which would allow Councillor Patrick Greene to formally represent the Council at Blue Plaque Ceremonies.

 

RESOLVED: to: (nem con)

 

(a)               appoint Councillor Ian Hudspeth, Leader of the Council in place of Councillor Keith Mitchell CBE to the Oxford Preservation Trust;

(b)               appoint Councillor Charles Mathew in place of Councillor Don Seale to the Oxfordshire Museums Council;

(c)               (by votes to  , with 1 abstention) endorse the current arrangement whereby the Chairman of the County Council, as the council’s designated appointee to the Blue Plaque Society, may delegate Councillor Patrick Greene to be both board member and attendee at blue plaque ceremoniesfor the Council year.
