Save Chinnor Library

We the undersigned petition the council to maintain funding for Chinnor library to be run by trained librarians and to continue to provide its wide range of services

Chinnor library is a valuable asset to the community and is used by residents of Chinnor, Henton, Crowell and Kingston Blount. If funding is withdrawn, the nearest library will be six miles away in Thame, so that the most vulnerable - young children, disabled residents and pensioners - will be most disadvantaged.

Proposed savings from withdrawing Chinnor library funding break down to £7 each year per head of population of Chinnor. Further thought, discussion and consultation must take place to provide viable alternatives to the present proposals for cost-cutting.
