Report by Deputy Director for Environment & Economy – Highways & Transport (CMDDL5).

The Deputy Leader of the Council considered objections and comments received to a consultation on a proposed zebra crossing on Denchworth Road, Grove.  He acknowledged further representations which had been received from the school in support of the proposal and from Mr and Mrs Martin, residents of The Green who had objected to the proposal as part of the original consultation but who had submitted further representations.

Local County Councillors Zoe Patrick and Jenny Hannaby both supported the scheme.

Councillor Armitage also supported the proposal bearing in mind the high average speed of traffic on Denchworth Road and the obvious benefits to those wishing to cross.

Having regard to the arguments and options set out in the documentation before him, the representations made to him and the further considerations set out above the Deputy Leader of the Council confirmed his decision as follows:

to authorise the implementation of the zebra crossing on Denchworth Road, Grove as advertised.
