EDUCATION PROJECT APPRAISAL: BANBURY, HARRIERS GROUND PRIMARY SCHOOL – 4 CLASS EXTENSION AND FOUNDATION STAGE IMPROVEMENT

Report by Director for Children, Young People & Families

  1. The proposed project will provide a 4-classroom expansion of the school to cater for increased pupil numbers and a Foundation Stage improvement, which the school are promoting following a successful bid for grant funding.

  2. The cost of the project is being met, in part, from the capital receipt from the sale of the existing Dashwood School site. Therefore, it is necessary, as part of this project approval, for the County Council to declare surplus to requirements the existing Dashwood School buildings and site.

  3. The remainder of the funding for the project will be met from a Foundation Stage Improvement Grant, school contribution and from the County Council’s Capital Programme.

    4. RECOMMENDATION

  4. The Cabinet Member for Schools Improvement is RECOMMENDED to approve detailed project appraisal ED654.
