Report by Director of Environment and Highways (CMDT7).

 

Proposals include a new ‘Sparrow’ type crossing at the existing signal junction, widening of an existing footway/cycleway to 3m and introduction of a raised side road entry treatment across Thame Lane. Provision of street lighting system.

 

The Cabinet Member is RECOMMENDED to:

 

Approve the following:

 

(a)           ‘Toucan’ Crossing to be located on the A415 Abingdon Road, west of the signalised junction with Tollgate Road.

 

(b)           Side Road Entry Treatment (SRET) traffic calming feature to be located at the A415 junction with Thame Lane.

 

(c)           Conversion of a section of existing footway on Tollgate Road (in advance of the new ‘Toucan’ Crossing) to a new shared use foot & cycleway.

 

(d)           Delegate the approval of the final design of the scheme to the Director of Environment & Highways in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Transport.
