The Cabinet Member is RECOMMENDED to:

a)    Approve the proposed introduction of 20mph speed limits at Tetsworth – subject to further engagement with Carousel Buses Limited, Tetsworth Parish Council and the local County Council member.

RESOLVED to

a)    approve the proposed introduction a reduced length of 20mph limit at Tetsworth as indicated indicatively on the plan in Annex 1 of the report

b)   defer consideration of the speed limit between point A (the site of an existing 20mph school time advisory 20mph speed limit) and the south easterly terminal of the current 30mph speed limit at point B on the plan in Annex 1 subject to further engagement with Carousel Buses Limited, Tetsworth Parish Council and the local County Council member.

The Chair introduced the item to the meeting and invited officers to provide some background information to the report.

Officers noted strong concerns about the proposals raised by the bus companies.

Officers highlighted the feeling for further engagement with the bus companies, the local parish council and the local County Councillor.

Officers and the Chair discussed the deferral of the consideration between point A and point B in Annex 1, and the Chair agreed to amend the recommendations accordingly.

The Chair thanked officers and agreed to the amended recommendations in the report.
