Councillor Gavin McLauchlan

I was born in London but moved to Oxfordshire at a very young age. I was schooled at Northleigh Primary and Abingdon Boys School before heading off to study Biological Sciences Specialising in Genetics at UEA in Norwich.

My career has been in media and data. I launched Freeview whilst at the BBC, and BT TV whilst at Microsoft. I also launched the early forms of retail loyalty programmes for Asda, Boots and Sainsburys.

I live in Benson with my wife, Zoë, and have done for 15 years. We have three daughters from separate relationships, two dogs and four chickens. I am also a Benson Parish Councillor.

My passions are nature (I give talks on otters and crayfish locally), photography, growing vegetables, skiing, cricket and rugby.
