Bus stop provision was agreed as part of outline planning application. Final locations agreed as part of S278 technical approval process.

The Cabinet Member is RECOMMENDED to:

a)    Approve the introduction of two new bus stop clearways (with ‘No stopping except local buses’ restriction) on either side of Lady Grove in Didcot, as advertised.

The Chair introduced the item to the meeting.

Officers noted that the proposals for additional bus stops were part of a Section 278 agreement agreed through the planning process relating to a housing development in Didcot, which was in-line with standard practices across Oxfordshire.

The Chair noted the request from the local County Councillor to move the southbound bus stop, but officers confirmed that land constraints prevented relocation as highways land was only available at the proposed location.

The Chair noted that bus stop clearways were intended to support public transport use and improve safety.

The Chair thanked officers and agreed to the recommendations in the report.

RESOLVED to:

a)    Approve the introduction of two new bus stop clearways (with ‘No stopping except local buses’ restriction) on either side of Lady Grove in Didcot, as advertised.
