Extension of existing 20mph speed limit, required as part of a development.

 

The Cabinet Member is RECOMMENDED to:

 

a)    Approve the extension of the existing 20mph speed limit on Green Lane westwards to a point 20 metres east of its crossroad junction with Akeman Street & The Hale, as advertised.

 

Minutes:

The Chair introduced the item to the meeting.

 

Officers noted that the proposed extension of the 20mph speed limit on Green Lane was required as part of development mitigation secured through the planning permission process and would be funded by the developer.

 

The Chair noted that the extension of 20mph speed limits would improve safety, support walking and cycling as well as enabling active travel connections.

 

The Chair thanked officers and agreed to the recommendations in the report.

 

RESOLVED to:

 

a)    Approve the extension of the existing 20mph speed limit on Green Lane westwards to a point 20 metres east of its crossroad junction with Akeman Street & The Hale, as advertised.
