To consider proposed 20mph speed limits.
Decision:
The Cabinet Member for Highway Management AGREED to
approve the proposed introduction of 20mph speed limits as advertised.
Minutes:
The report presents responses to a statutory consultation on the proposed introduction of 20mph speed limits in Little Milton. The proposals would help encourage walking and cycling within Little Milton by making them safer and more attractive.
Cllr Gant agreed with the officers’ responses to
consultation where the main purpose of
the scheme was to improve road safety and to encourage greater use of active
travel by reducing speeds which would also reduce accidents. This formed
part of a countywide programme of works that sought out to deliver ‘a safer
place with a safer pace’.
