The report presents responses received to a statutory consultation on proposals to extend the 40mph speed limit on the B4047 at Minster Lovell because of adjacent development. It should be noted that a consultation on the same proposal was carried out in June and July 2019 with no objections but as the order was not made within two years of the consultation (although some works were carried out on site), national regulations on traffic orders require a further consultation. Funding for consultation on the proposals has been provided by the developers of the adjacent land who will also fund the extension of the limit if approved.

The Cabinet Member for Highway Management is RECOMMENDED to approve as advertised the proposed extension of the 40mph speed limit on the B4047 at Minster Lovell and ask officers to assess and provide costings to Minster Lovell Parish Council for a further reduction of the speed limit to 30mph.

The Cabinet Member for Highway Management, Councillor Bearder, considered a report of the Corporate Director Environment & Place (CMDHM12) presenting responses received to a statutory consultation to extend the 40mph speed limit on the B4047 at Minster Lovell because of adjacent development.

A consultation on the same proposal had been carried out in June and July 2019 and no objections had been received to the proposal. However, as the Order was not made within two years of the consultation national regulations on traffic orders required that there be a further consultation.

It was RECOMMENDED that the Cabinet Member for Highway Management approve, as advertised, the proposed extension of the 40mph speed limit on the B4047 at Minster Lovell and ask officers to assess and provide costings to Minster Lovell Parish Council for a further reduction of the speed limit to 30mph.

Having considered the report of the Director of Growth and Economy, Councillor Bearder, announced his decision, as follows:
