1 Formal Approval of Schools Funding Formula 2020-21

Report by Corporate Director for Children’s Services.
The final funding formula for schools and academies for 2020/21 needs to have approval before submission to the DfE by 21 January 2020. Schools Forum has been consulted in development of the funding formula for 2020/21 as a statutory consultee, but the decision on the final formula is made by the local authority.
The Local Authority Funding proforma will follow separately.
The Cabinet Member for Education & Cultural Services is RECOMMENDED to approve the final funding formula for 2020/21 subject to the decision by the Secretary of State for Education.

Decision:
Following the School Forum’s
meeting of 15 January 2020, an updated report was presented
and the following recommendation was agreed:
RECOMMENDATION
The Cabinet Member for Education
& Cultural Services is RECOMMENDED to:-
a) To
agree the recommendation from Schools Forum.
b) To
approve the final funding formula for 2020/21 as set out in Annex 1.
c) To
note that the Local Authority will withdraw the disapplication request made to
the Secretary of State for Education.
