This report
follows a public consultation run from 6 November 2013 - 18 December 2013 to
gauge local opinion on the type of new school required for Barton West (Barton
Park) housing development in Oxford.
Following the
consultation, the results of which are summarised and discussed in this report,
an educational specification for the new school has been written and is
attached at Annex 1 for approval by Cabinet Member.
This complies with the agreed policy procedure for selecting a recommended sponsor for a new school in Oxfordshire.
The
Cabinet is asked to note the outcomes of the consultation into a new school for
Barton West (Barton Park) and RECOMMENDED to approve the specification as the
basis for seeking academy providers for the school.
