for the introduction of a new 40mph limit.
The introduction of a 40mph limit is being promoted on the A422
Hennef Way, Banbury as part of the DfT United States Visiting Forces road
safety initiative. The objective is to improve road safety by reducing speeds
and the risk of collisions at junctions.
The Chair introduced the item to the meeting.
The Chair noted that this was part of a government
initiative to improve safety outside RAF bases, following tragic incidents in
previous years.
Officers noted safety concerns surrounding the Concorde
Avenue roundabout, which has had significant collisions history.
The Chair noted the response which had no objection from
Stagecoach Bus Company.
The Chair thanked officers and agreed to the recommendations
in the report.
RESOLVED to:
a)
Approve the introduction of a 40mph speed
limit in place of the existing 50mph limit on the A422 Hennef
Way in Banbury, as advertised.
