To seek Cabinet approval of the Oxfordshire Attendance Strategy 2027-2030. The strategy sets out the countywide approach to improving attendance and reducing barriers to participation in education for all children and young people, with a particular focus on vulnerable groups and those experiencing persistent or severe absence. The strategy establishes a locality-based, partnership approach involving schools, trusts, families and public services, aligned with the Oxfordshire Education & Inclusion Strategy. It outlines the strategic framework, governance arrangements and delivery model through which Oxfordshire will support improved attendance outcomes over the coming years

Consultation process
Draft proposals have been reviewed through the Attendance Strategic Board and aligned with the Oxfordshire Education & Inclusion Strategy, as well as other relevant strategies such as the Best Start in Life and SEND Reform Plan. Consultation has included discussions with education leaders, practitioners and multi-agency partners to ensure the strategy reflects local priorities, statutory responsibilities and best practice in improving attendance. Further stakeholder engagement will be undertaken prior to final adoption of the strategy.
