TVFCS is procuring a replacement mission-critical Command and Control system to support emergency call handling, mobilisation, incident management and associated operational control functions across the three Thames Valley Fire and Rescue Services. The procurement has been undertaken as a Competitive Flexible Procedure, with structured participation checks, written quality and cost evaluation, demonstrations, presentations and, if required, negotiation.
TVFCS operates a shared emergency control function for Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Royal Berkshire. The programme has been progressed to avoid operational, resilience, cyber, Airwave compliance and service continuity risks that would arise if replacement is not completed before the current system becomes unsupported or non-compliant.
The replacement is intended to secure an established and proven solution capable of supporting 24/7/365 emergency control operations, integrating with key operational and ICT systems.
