Decision:

Approved

Minutes:

The Cabinet Member for Environment considered (CMDE5) proposals for and responses received to a statutory consultation for a raised junction table including a mini roundabout at the junction of Mill Lane with Estover Way and a pair of speed cushions on Estover Way just south of this junction put forward as part of an adjacent residential development.

Councillor Jeanette Matelot attended the meeting but did not speak. She had, however, emailed her agreement with the views of the police and officers.

Mr Kirkwood advised that speed cushions generally worked well elsewhere and confirmed that the scheme was entirely developer funded.

Acknowledging the number of objections received to the proposals for raised cushions the Cabinet Member for Environment also acknowledged the comments of the police regarding inappropriate speeds along this road and that they considered that that might be mitigated by these proposals. Therefore, having regard to information set out in the report and the information presented to her at the meeting including the good record of similar installations around the county and recognising that the proposals were developer funded the Cabinet Member for Environment confirmed her decision as follows:

to approve the proposal for a raised junction table including a mini roundabout at the junction of Mill Lane with Estover Way and a pair of speed cushions on Estover Way just south of this junction as advertised.
